Editorial Summary: This powder brings a nice glow without looking cakey and works great layered on oily or combo skin. Packaging is a definite win. Not super mattifying, so if you need full oil control, look elsewhere. Some say it highlights fine lines and breaks easily in bags. Overall, solid glow powder for the price.
Methodology: Analyzed 13 quotes from multiple beauty-focused subreddits including MakeupAddiction and Sephora between 2014 and 2025, focusing on user experience with ELF Halo Glow Powder covering skin types, packaging, and performance.

I currently prefer my elf halo glow over all of these so I figured why bother trying the Mario when I know it’s similar to these others?
This powder surprised me! It’s not for pore blurring, but for glow and longevity? Amazing. Works beautifully on combo/oily skin, especially layered over the Halo Glow Liquid Filter. I’ll definitely keep reaching for this—especially on light makeup days or to give life back to dull skin.
I've even tried setting with the Givenchy Prisme Libre setting powder and the ELF Halo Glow setting powder.
The elf halo glow powder is not very mattifying.
Tbh, if the ELF Halo Glow powder isn't giving you enough glow, then you are either going for a pretty extreme "glow" or your products (skin prep + foundation + powder) aren't working together. (I'm also surprised that you can use the ELF Halo Glow powder as a setting powder - it does nothing to set my oily skin.)
So i've used several setting powders throughout my life and my favorite packaging is the Elf Halo Glow powder. The little filter that releases the powder has a thingy that covers the filter (idk if that made sense, my brain isn't braining right now). It's nice because when the box is closed, the powder doesn't come out if it's flipped around. I also like the powder itself because of how it still keeps my makeup somewhat glowy.
I tried ELF Halo Glow (loose), but it made the lines under my eyes MORE noticeable.
I liked it but it broke in my purse in about 2 weeks. :-(
I just bought Halo glow powder from elf and I am so impressed also with their packaging. I wish everybody would do it this way.
